Genital Lymphedema and Obesity in Focus
Foeldi Clinic meets Klose Training
Hamburg, 17-18 September 2027
Welcome
Dear colleagues, dear friends of lymphology,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the beautiful city of Hamburg – the “Gateway to the World.”
We deliberately embrace this image of a gateway: our symposium aims to open spaces, create new perspectives, and help overcome barriers, especially in a field that has remained hidden for far too long.
Genital lymphedema continues to be one of the most overlooked conditions in our discipline and is burdened by significant stigma. For affected patients, this represents not only a physical challenge but also a profound emotional strain.
While lymphedema of the legs is routinely diagnosed and treated, the genital area is frequently left unaddressed due to uncertainty and hesitation. This is precisely where we want to begin and where we aim to make a difference.
It is time to look more closely, to speak more openly, and to treat more effectively.
Our symposium invites you to question existing barriers, actively reduce stigma, and develop practical approaches to improved diagnosis and holistic care.
Our second focus weighs just as heavily: obesity, the pandemic of our time. Like genital lymphedema, it is too often met with stigma rather than care. We will explore its close interrelationship with lymphedema and lipalgia syndrome (formerly lipedema) – and the prejudice that affected patients continue to face.
We invite you to a dynamic and interactive symposium featuring inspiring lectures, hands-on workshops, and ample opportunities for personal exchange and discussion.
Save the date and stay tuned for further details about the program and our distinguished international faculty.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to Hamburg and to sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences, and generating new momenVtum together with the expertise of the Foeldi Clinic, Klose Training, and many renowned colleagues.
Let us create change together.
With kind regards
| Dr. med. Tobias Bertsch |
